?I was using a small (non-powered) bookshelf speaker with an IC-705 and IC-7300. I'm not sure about the IC-705 but the IC-7300 is spec'd at 2.5W audio output. Either rig could drive the speaker with no problem. My new TX-500 (spec'd at either 1W: normal or 3W: outdoor settings) produces no audio output from that speaker at all. The audio cable supplied from Lab599 is OK because if I plug in a much smaller (powered) speaker I can get some audio (though not very loud). I can also drive a pair of Bose QC-15 headphone fine. Any reason why the other rigs can drive the speaker but the TX-500 cannot? -- 73, Norm/KC1BMD
