The same ideas came on my side. I like the new features and concept (I come from the Yaesu community) of the IC705 and will mostly use it as a basestation with an ATU and a PA (i.e. the Xiegu XPA125B).
For portable ops I intend to switch over to the TX500, but the Xiegu X5105 with integrated ATU and battery came also in mind. But the portable equipment will wait until the TX500 is widely available in EU also.

Thank you all very much for the help in deciding to go on, i appreciate it. I think the 705 is a great tranceiver but due to the expected operating conditions i have in mind, i will wait (if i had the money i would buy both).
