Re: CW Transmit Frequency on TX500 vs Receive freq on other HF rigs

Actually, might be XIT which is on the same dial.

If you turn the RIT dial is it set to something? I¡¯m guessing 700hz and you may want to set it at zero and retest.

I have been using my 1 day old TX500 on CW (also on CWR) and wonder about the frequency display that I set on the dial and the frequency that OTHERS HEAR me on.
I did a test with a friend with an IC7300 and also listened on my IC7610.? On each ICOMs, the actual receive frequency was 700Hz higher than displayed on the TX500 to actually hear the correct 700Hz CW tone on the Icom rigs.
I get that the TX500 has a 700Hz offset, but if I announce that I am on 7,060.000 KHz, everyone will actually hear me on 7,060.700 KHz.? I see this as a problem.
The only setting that I see to adjust is #02, CW PITCH, but this does not actually help, as this is just the 700Hz tone offset.?
What are you folks doing, actually operating 700Hz lower and saying that you are on the higher frequency?? Working SPLIT with a 700Hz differential?
Shouldn't the TX500 then actually TX 700Hz lower than the receive frequency to match with what other rigs do so as to DISPLAY the Frequency properly?

ALSO, I'd appreciate what others are setting the MENU FUNCTIONS at to get the best performance of the rig.
