The Road Commission and Wright Tree Service informed me yesterday that the dead cottonwood at the boat launch will be removed this weekend. Has anyone lost their kitten in the past 3 or 4 weeks? At first, we thought it was a feral kitten, but it is not. I noticed it approximately 3 weeks ago on my front porch in the wee hours of the morning. It was unapproachable up until this past Saturday. It is the sweetest little furbaby that seems to have lost its way. My goal is to have it reunited with its family. I took it to Pet Authority on Monday to have it scanned for a chip but to no avail. On Tuesday, We went back to the vet to begin vaccinations, physical, bloodwork, etc... If you know of anyone who lost their kitten, please don't hesitate to contact me. Whoever lost this kitten has to be brokenhearted. There is no doubt this kitten was well cared for and loved.

Florence informed me yesterday she is retiring from goose poop patrol. On behalf of the board, I want to thank you for your dedication and time spent taking care of these areas for the past several years. That being said, we are looking for volunteers to take on the task. We can set up a schedule that is conducive for all of us. If you can help or have kids home for the summer that use the park and are willing, please contact me. I researching alternatives to keep the geese away from these areas. I have an automatic payment to GFL in two days. I intend to cancel it and not pay. I called the new provider and they disavowed anything that happens re Waterford before July 1. According to Waterford Township compost will be picked up beginning July 1st when Priority takes over.

There will be a small birthday celebration at the park tomorrow 6/23/24. One of our neighbors will be celebrating their granddaughter's birthday. I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up. Thanks to Keith's installation of the volleyball posts and net we now have a permanent volleyball area at the park. He dug two three-foot holes with a post-hole digger, a small hand spade, and a shovel. It was a true labor of love. That being said, we hope you will enjoy the new addition to the park.
