Thanks Stefan!
?
I think your right about the priests name. ?Looking at the writing the 'n' and the 'd' are written?exactly the same way?as those in Ludford Magna. I've updated the album to show the name as Lewandowski. Re; Jaworski, Zbaraz is about 50miles from where dad lived. Dad's family were also farmers so I guess it could be him, they?did have?some things in common.?
Stefan, how do you get such fast access to the Hoover Institue records? Is there a web link to their listings?
?
Thanks again, Ken.

Ken

Thanks for sharing these photos and the details you put into the descriptions. ?Here are some comments.

On the photo of your dad and friends, it looks like that is short for "Boleslaw Kosy". Also, there is a statement by ?a Jan Jaworski archived in the Hoover Institution. ?If he is the same fellow, he was a farmer from Zbaraz, Tarnopol province.

On your father's baptism certificate, "LEWANDOWSKI" is a proper Polish name for the priest.

My great-grandfather Roman Wisniowski was also exiled to Siberia in 1863 after the rebellion but had to take the false name "TUCZYNSKI" to avoid detection by the Russians after he escaped back to Poland.

Regards,
Stefan Wisniowski
