HI Jan and Nadia,
Thank you for your messages. I picked up the phone t'other day to
call Mrs Goddard at the MOD re. my grandaddy Tadeusz Pundyk and while
I was waiting to be connected and thinking about how I could explain
myself effectively enough, I noticed that there is actually
no 'official requirement' for my father's death certificate on the
form they had sent me to prove that I am the next of kin, even though
this is what they said they required in their covering letter. All
that is required 'officially' is a copy of my grandfather's death
certificate (which I have). So...I scrapped the idea of the phone
call and instead decided to hedge my bets on the formalities of the
form. Fingers crossed!

Hello Grace.
I live in the US and requested my late father military records from
London
(he joined the Polish forces and via Iran, Iraq ended up in
Palestine) from
these records I found out he was married at the time and later on
from the
red cross found it he had 2 sons! This summer I went to Poland to
meet my
newfound family and my mother, his second wife went also, she flew
from
Israel together with my sister! it was a great reunion! The lady in
London
was extremely helpful.
it will be very wise to fill out the paperwork and get the records,
you never
know what you might find, even a new family like I did!
Good luck
Nadia . Tucson Arizona.
By the way my father first wife only died 2 years ago! no one had
any idea
about anyone, even my late fathers sister who is 80 and who I met
had no idea
she had 2 nephews, the sons of her brother living in Poland all
these
years!!!!
