Excellent question. The local repair guy I took it to tells me so. I don't
have much test equipment.Unit powers up but no ears, no transmit.

The hardest part about repairing the big kenwoods is the shipping. Bad things happen in transit.
The only "easy" way to get one that I know of is to buy a used board from ebay. (good luck)

I usually wire my PowerPoles with 10 gauge, and remove 2 or 3 strands of the 10
ga copper (only what won't fit into the connector) so the wire fits into the
connector before crimping. I
