Just take note of the sheen of the finish, too, not just the color. Is it shiny,
flat, matte, etc.? You will either want that type of finish in the paint you buy
or you will want a clearcoat that

Take the radio to Lowe's or Home Depot's paint department. They can read the color of the radio's cabinet with their computer that copies paint colors. They will mix a can for you, with the matching

Hi Bob,
If I remember correctly, the problem on the original boards was one or two of the SMD transistors. I’d have to go digging to be certain, though.
I seem to remember repairing one of the

I have recently bought a TS-770 that appears to have a duff PLL chip.
The chip is the SM6422A and is mounted on the X50-1530-00 PLL(A) board.
I hear that these chips are quite hard to find,

Re: Kenwood TS-570S (Japanese version)
Dave . . .
Hopefully someone here has a way to get that radio to put out 100 watts.
However, based on recent Icom radios purchased from the Japanese market at a

Kenwood TS-570S (Japanese version)
I have acquired a pristine, working TS-570S from Japan and see it has the power limit set to 50W. Does the service menu item 18 allow this to be set at the standard, 100W limit for USA?
Thanks

That I haven't seen. I'll have to check on that. The way it's mounted there could be something putting some pressure on it...

Re: [Owner] [Kenwood-Amateur-Radio] TM-G707 problem
I've been having problems with that too. I used to be able to program it years ago with an old XP laptop that I still have, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. I'm thinking something went bad there

I looked at the manual. On the back there's a reset button/switch. Maybe
that's defective? Shot in the dark.
