TS-2000 PTT Setup Issues

开云体育

Folks,

?

Laptop with Linux Mint and 73 Linux installed. Pre-mobile Digirig interface kit.

?

I’ve set up my Kenwood TS-2000 many times before on Windows computers and with Build-a-pi.?

?

I have it working fine for CAT control - changes frequency, rig control, but PTT is giving me fits no matter what setting I try.?

?

It typically likes +12v RTS but now that turns on transmit all the time.? RTS/CTS isn’t friendly to it either - locks up FLrig.?

?

I’ve been shutting off the rig to try and reset that.? Most of the time I’m having to reboot as I don’t know something similar to task manager is a thing in LM.?

?

Curious if anyone in the community is still running a TS-2000 and has found a solution.

?

Thanks,

?

Hi Jeremy,
?
I can’t speak to the radio, but the equivalent of task manager in Linux as a text mode program called top. If you open a terminal and type top, then a list of processes will come up. If you press k, this will tell it to kill that process, (correction select a process and press k. You can also press k and type in the process number; by default, the number will be the process at the top of the screen) and it will ask you if you want to use signal 9 to kill it (a normal exit) or signal 15 (forcing it to exit). I’m sure you’ll get that hang of it with a litttle exploration- it has a few explainers on screen, and IIRC, h will bring up help. When you’re done, q will exit top.

Aside from accessing top through a terminal window, you have a desktop program that does the same thing called System Monitor.

Well got it figure out for PTT.? Found this gentleman’s website:?

?

Helped a great deal.? Also, make sure your radio / FLrig is tuned onto a ham frequency.? I was on something weird and the radio recognized it and would let me PTT.?

?

Now I have an issue with WSJT-X not kicking out full volume from my Windows 11 laptop.?

?

I’m using the old Windows sound control panel and its barely at ? range with power slider in WSJT-X turned up full.? Microsoft is great!
