Can't get PAT to communicate with a station
#pat-mail
I'm so frustrated I'm ready to toss all my ham gear in the trash!
Over the last couple updates, something happened with my setup and now I can't communicate with an RMS in PAT.? I get the message "contacting station" and "connected" and then the communication seems to stop. I've reinstalled BAP multiple times I've purchased a new signalink I've even tried connecting on my windows laptop with no luck. I know the Pi is functioning.? I know the signalink is functioning (I can use my mobilink for APRS and echolink with my signalink) I'm using a Kenwood TM-G707 through the dataport. Any suggestions??? |
What does your ARDOP logs say? Maybe some info there. On Wed, Aug 18, 2021, 17:21 Scott <scott.stys@...> wrote: I'm so frustrated I'm ready to toss all my ham gear in the trash! |
开云体育This does not sound like hardware to me, at least not on the surface.? A couple of things.... 1.? Just to verify you are using PAT GUI?? Or the PAT Command line? 2.? Can you download from the RMS using Telnet? 3.? You are using ARDOP? 4.? If so, as Brian suggested, can you upload a log snippet of the connection and conversation from ARDOP?? Not an expert here by any stretch and it is hardware i do not use but I am happy to give it a once over. I had to look up TM-G707 as I had not heard of this radio. I remember Jason mentioned adding a -t -0 or -o in the dierwolf?settings. (I don't have access to that info ) . I could hear and see the tnc connect and then disconnect. It was not until I added the -o.? I hope this helps. If not file under D for delete. 73 Don Poaps New Westminster, BC VA7DGP DATA VA7QU ? other than the volume settings on the signalink, which I had pretty dialed in when everything was working, are there any volume controls in the PI that I should look at?? I don't remember having to do anything before, but just a thought. ? |
Here's some info from the connection log on my windows machine.? Maybe there is something there that is helpful since I'm having the same problem on the Pi

开云体育So Scott, I did find this in the winlink forums The items these folks had were simple 1.? A potentially corrupted whitelist 2.? Email address not on the white list 3.? A forgotten forward setup in the winlink settings I know its a long shot but thought i would put it out just in case Thanks, Terry K4HNT ---- On Thu, 19 Aug 2021 17:23:27 -0400 Scott <scott.stys@...> wrote ----

If you can connect P2P then you should be able to connect to a gateway. Be advised that if either compose a message as a P2P message or try to connect to a gateway?as a P2P, what you are saying is happening will happen. You need to make sure the message is composed as a regular winlink message (not a P2P), and you need to make sure the connection type is for a Gateway (not P2P) when connecting to a gateway.
