Following your directions here is where I am at:

It's around 80%, and the same Alsa USB output is selected that I use with WSJT-X.

No need to delete it. It can probably be resolved. First, turn off all of the listeners in Pat Menu->Manage Pat->Set Listen Mode Verify that FLRIG is open and configured properly before opening Pat

So I’m using pi4, FT-891, and the digirig. I’ve had success with wsjtx. I used to use a g90 and have never had any success. I’ve thought about deleting the whole pat menu app and starting over

For some reason vara isn't connecting to the radio.? First check would be is FLRIG connected and working.? Have you ever had vara working with this setup before? -- 73 Tim KF7VUT

The volume level is set to the same level as used with WSJT-X, which is working. Watching the PulseAudio volume control, the JS8Call app never appears as outputting audio.

Thank you Kelly and Jason. PTT in FLRIG does work. I changed the line in the direwolf.conf file to PTT RIG 2 localhost:4532 as Jason suggested - and now the radio goes in to transmit appropriately.

I'll assume the PTT button in FLRIG works? If so, try changing your PTT statement in direwolf to be PTT RIG 2 localhost:4532 and make sure "rig control" in Pat Menu settings is set to "yes" The PTT

Just installed last week. I have a digirig, and I am trying to run JS8call, and can successfully decode, but when attempting to transmit, CAT control works, but no audio is being output from JS8call.

you are close to isolating it down it sounds like send a copy of your direwolf config - goof with aprs apps for a different way to troubleshoot your direwolf /g/KM4ACK-Pi/message/234
