Reading through some of the hamlib github issues, I ran across this https://github.com/Hamlib/Hamlib/issues/765 Looks like you aren't the only one with the issue. Hopefully they get it resolved soon.

Most of the fpv goggles out there are analog 480p SD...and pretty low res display making it really hard to see small text. There are some newer goggles now that are HD but I haven't used any of them.
