In the forum of cqrlog there is a description of how to install cqrlog 2.5.2 on bullseye:

quote:

If you do not want (need to) upgrade hamlib making compile by yourself you can still upgrade cqrlog using my upgrade script found from?

Please read the readme in web page.
In short:
1) download newupdate.zip from web page
2) extract newupdate.sh from newupdate.zip (that is: do unzip)
3) start nweupdate.sh in command console.
4) choose cqrlog from newupdate.sh selection
5) continue operation, newupdate will do all backups and updates for you
6) if update fails you can restore old system from backups. Mainly you just need to copy cqrlog binary backup file back to name /usr/bin/cqrlog (prefer copying instead of renaming backup file. Both will work, anyway)

There is a video (a bit old and not so good in quality and English) that shows how this update happens?
I should make a new one with some kind of manuscript and editing, but at the moment this will do. The real update begins around time 05:10.

Maybe it helps¡

CQRlog has been an issue for me ever since moving to Bullseye. I haven't successfully gotten it to build from source on Bullseye. I tried installing with apt but it also installs hamlib from apt which conflicts with hamlib that is built from source. If I then remove the hamlib installed with apt, CQRlog is also removed. The only workaround I can think of at the moment would be to skip installing hamlib with BAP and then manually install CQRlog. This should give you a working setup albeit with an older version of both CQRlog & hamlib. This approach will also require modifying one line of code in the "update" script. You will need to add a "#" in front of

Is there a way to install JS8Call utilities on BAP using Buster. I am
having stability issues with Bullseye on my pi4.,bullseye will not always boot and I'm missing
some software even though I checked the box

Re: Phone to Pi GPS not working

You da man Jason!? I had ufw running and needed to add a rule to allow port 11123. Merry Christmas and thanks!

I notice that CQRLOG has been dropped from BAP on Bullseye. i have looked on the github page and here to see if there are plans to reinstate it. Perhaps I overlooked it but I cannot find an answer.

Does anyone know if CQRLOG will be available in a BAP update on Bullseye?

Re: Building js8call and wsjtx under Raspberry Pi OS - Bullseye

Yep, but I got that libhamlib4 error every time I tried with BAP (fresh bullseye build) for some reason YMMV?

Re: BAP Update-tool

Run these commands:
rm -rf ~/pi-build
git clone https://github.com/km4ack/pi-build.git

and try the update tool again.

Re: Upgrade or clean install to Bullseye #buster #bullseye

What do you recommend?
The recommended way is a clean install of Bullseye.

Thanks for this post, updated to Bullseye today( probably should have waited.
BAP got JS8call just fine but used you instructions to get wsjtx on board. got a :(Package 'libhamlib4' is not installed, so not removed) message with the BAP attempt.
You can use BAP to install WSJTX.

Re: Start from scratch!

BAP currently looks to see which OS you have installed (Bullseye or Buster). It will then run the appropriate code depending on which is found. You will get a warning about Buster not being supported going forward but for now everything works to the best of my knowledge except for Gradtracker which has a patch available.

Re: FAQ

Link works fine here in SC. ;) Maybe try clearing your cache or use a different browser.

Re: New install of BAP on Bullseye #bullseye #bap

No need to run BAP with sudo. The code will call sudo when it needs it.

Bullseye and Buster use the same link. BAP will look at which OS you have installed and run the appropriate code.

[Edited Message Follows]

I have a fresh install of Bullseye from the download link on the BAP Github page. I did updates after install.

I copied the script below into a terminal window and ran it as sudo. It goes as far as asking for my call letters and then quits. There is no BAP in the menu of the pi. I rebooted and still no BAP in the menu.?

The command does create /home/pi/pi-build with contents but there are several error messages.?

./build-a-pi: line 144: /home/pi/pi-build/intro.txt: Permission denied
./build-a-pi: line 157: /home/pi/pi-build/intro.txt: No such file or directory
rm: cannot remove '/home/pi/pi-build/intro.txt': No such file or directory
./build-a-pi: line 211: /home/pi/pi-build/config: Permission denied
./build-a-pi: line 216: /home/pi/pi-build/base.txt: Permission denied

I have repeated this sequence several times with the same outcome. ?

I have also gone into the /home/pi/pi-build directory and run ./build-a-pi ?to the same effect. That is the last part of the script below. It asks for call letters and then quits.

Any suggestions?
Jim

git clone \
  $HOME/pi-build && bash $HOME/pi-build/build-a-pi

Re: New install of BAP on Bullseye #bullseye #bap

Thanks for giving this information. I would have thought we needed to use the sudo command.
I do not understand the? code as of yet, but do read all the post, and trying to learn.
Thanks

Re: New install of BAP on Bullseye #bullseye #bap

I think I have found my problem.

I originally ran the script with sudo.

I removed the folder with a rm -r, made sure I was in my home directory with a cd ~ and reran the script. It is now giving me the list of apps to install.

If you are truly set on installing the 'latest version' you will need to get a clean copy of Bullseye distribution.? If you really need to stick with Buster for some reason, do some searches here in Groups.io for a link to an older version of BAP.? As far as what video to watch, I would just go to Jason's channel on Youtube, go to the "Videos" tab and look through those. He does a great job of keeping us up to date on BAP in general as well as singular issues that were determined to need more explanation.?

Merry Christmas!
