Re: FLRIG needs update?

You are probably running BAP 3.0.0 This was fixed in 3.0.1. Open the terminal and run

cd ~/pi-build
git pull

and try the update script again.

Re: Need help upgrading WSJT-X 2.0.0 on my Pi 4B

Are you running build a pi v3? If so, go to the main pi menu. Choose Preference->Build a pi to start the update script. Put a check mark by WSJTX and it will up date the app for you.

Need help upgrading WSJT-X 2.0.0 on my Pi 4B

Alan Jones

As a side note, can someone explain to me why WSJT-X is not updated in the Raspberry Pi Repository? Does it take a guru from the WSJT-X development team?

In the mean time, is there a .deb file that will work with Raspberry Pi OS, or do I have to compile from source?

Re: VNC?

Thanks...

I know a sign of getting old is forgetting what you did yesterday. So, I make notes. (then forget to read/see them). I have a copy of "PI 4 Build Notes" that I have annotated and yes, my note clearly shows for SSH/VNC to use sudo raspi-config (except I did SSH with the Pi menu config). I now will make my annotations in RED.

That solves one problem. You can't do much about the age issue...

yes, it worked...

Um, have you tried running raspi-config from a terminal session???

FLRIG needs update?

FLRIG 1.3.50 but BAP update says needs update. Even after selecting update and reboot still says needs update.

Re: HamClock Update

See this /g/KM4ACK-Pi/topic/75180050#509

Be sure to reboot after the update completes.

HamClock Update

Hi,

Running RPi 4b-4 BaPi 3
Originally installed HamClock via BaPi.

When I start HamClock, it goes through it's normal startup then presents its "New version 2.48 is available.? Update Now?" screen.
I chose 'Yes' but update is not successful.?

So, I looked at the BaPi update.? That recognizes that it is installed and I tried checking the box and letting BaPi update it, but it does not.

Thoughts?

Re: Upgrades?

Use the BAP update. From the main pi menu chose Preferences->Build a pi. Put check mark by both apps as you go through the screens.

Upgrades?

Have my BAP install working great. (Thank you!) Now I'd like to install the latest versions of JS8Call and WSJT-X. What's the best way to do this?

Re: Build a Pi 3 install problems

Unfortunately the mirroring system for the RPi repositories seems to have issues. I regularly see these errors when running apt-get, especially on a fresh buster install. It doesn¡¯t matter if I¡¯m connected using WiFi or an Ethernet connection. But I¡¯ve noticed that the errors decrease over time, if not disappear altogether.

Best thing I could recommend is to keep running the install over and over, and you will be successful.

BAP and VNC autostart

Two things might be affecting VNC autostart.
1. I am now booting from usb, and 2.? I have updated BAP.
Are either of these possible culprits? I have the correct edit in the autostart diectory.

Re: Hotspot

In terminal run,

and send me the zip file please.

Re: New Build-a-Pi V3 installation problem

Sorry Michal, that reply was sent in error.

Does it not put a file on your pi desktop?

Re: New Build-a-Pi V3 installation problem

When I run the bash script it asks for my Call, starts the check, then I see a message flash briefly that says "Can't start " then something else but message goes by too fast.? It reports "DONE! but no diagnostics script is generated.

Thoughts?? Does this only work with the updated V3 install?? I'm using the V3 install from a week or so ago.

Re: Hotspot

I'm having issues with mine as well.? HotSpot is running, I'm away from my home.? My phone is connected to pi wifi, and I'm using 10.10.10.10.? Unfortunately my Username and Password are not working in VNC Viewer to access the pi.??

Under Hotspot Terminal, it lists Hotspot Name and Password - I'm using both of those and neither is working.

Thoughts?

Re: New Build-a-Pi V3 installation problem

At a terminal, run bash ~/pi-build/diagnostic and follow the directions on the screen. I'll see if I can figure out what's going on.

Re: Build a Pi 3 install problems

These are issue connecting to items in the buster repository and not build a pi. Are you able to download build a pi using the github directions?
git clone https://github.com/km4ack/pi-build.git $HOME/pi-build && bash $HOME/pi-build/build-a-pi

Re: New Build-a-Pi V3 installation problem

I downloaded everything today so I was surprised when it said that there was an update to Build-a-pi.? After installation, I downloaded all the programs that you offered. It was all very easy to follow and install with your menu.?
When I enter sudo raspi-config and go to network settings, it says Could not communicate with spa_supplicant. Sort of like the first Build-a-pi with the hot spot situation.
Do you think I need to start over? I did this all on a reformatted disk with new Raspi OS and new Build-a-pi V3
GPS is working fine. No conky and white desktop....when I entered cocky in terminal it ran with old desktop image just under conky but when I rebooted, it was gone again. It's like the programs are other but Build-a-Pi is gone
Thanks
