I just encountered this problem (had not updated my system in a LONG time. Should have left well enough alone!).? I used the "software rendering" login option mentioned in the linux mint help discussion Karl S mentioned in his 1st post.? I then used the Mint Update Manager to install the most recent 6.2 kernel (supported until August), which has fixed the problem (for now at least).? Mint 21.3 still has the problem (booting from USB), so not upgrading from 21.2 for now.

Possible Conky Fix Bookworm & Wayland
Don't have time to test this but wanted to share what was posted on . Please let us know if you test and it works for you.
To use Conky on wayland, add these two lines on your Conky script.
conky.config = {
out_to_x = false,
out_to_wayland = true,
Change own_window_type to ¡®override¡¯ ( own_window_type = ¡®override¡¯,)
If you add these lines, Conky will works on Wayland without any issue. But Conky will not load on Xorg .

Good morning to all¡ I have been struggling with trying to get all of the Build-a-Pi applications to run on my new Pi-5 using the Debian software ?(32 bit version).? Here are my areas of frustration: ? - I cannot seem to get CONKY to actually show information.? I get the ¡°box¡± up and running, and I can resize the box.? But I get no information in the box.? I have run BAP many times without success.? I noticed that BAP load did not include the ¡°.CONKYrc¡± file in the load.? I tried to add a copy from another prior load.? It didn¡¯t help.
- I have been trying to get WJSTx to load.? BAP, for whatever reason, doesn¡¯t seem to load it correctly.? I have managed to download the program independently from BAP and got it to work. ?I had made several contacts and was having fun with the speed of the Pi-5. ?I tried to use BAP to update only CONKY and now WJSTx will not run again.

This is the app I use in Linux before every trip. Well, 99% of them anyway and the times I don't use it are the times I find something missing. It is customizable for your setup and works well after the initial input of your inventory. When you create the checklist, the app will output both a text and html file so it can be viewed various ways. Personally I more or less stopped building them. No go box/bag (I have built several) ever fit all of the needs for different trips into the field. A quick POTA doesn't require the same gear as Field Day. Instead, I developed a modular system that relies heavily on the checklist. I expand on the change in philosophy in this video - ? --

Thanks for responding. I believe my problem was between my ears.
The ALC seems to be an automatic level control, so, if any level of control is indicated I suppose that indicates output is being held back to the optimum level [correct me if i am wrong].
My biggest problem seems to be a rather nasty, but small CME that disrupted our ion layers yesterday.
What ever the solution, the IC7300 is talking to the Pi5 WSJT-X is working, I'm making contacts, TQSL is running on the Pi and the sun is shinning in a blue sky.? If my wife would let me put up a 9 band yagi, life would be perfect.

Like you, I also set up for the eclipse. But in my case I was with friends and also wanted to hang out with them. No problem. I also have a portable router that I put on my dashboard that the Raspi wifi connects to. This router gives me MUCH greater wifi range than just using the wifi in the?Pi. My go-box is a large aluminum pilot map case with shoulder strap. This holds my IC-7000 transceiver, antenna tuner, digital modes interface, compact 30A mains switching mode power supply, 30 Ah LiFePO4 battery, headset, notebook PC, and miscellaneous adapters and cables. Still room for water, granola bars, and first aid kit. Nothing is fastened to the box, so I can deploy only what is needed in two minutes, depending upon the situation.? My 80, 40, 20m dipoles and VHF antennas and 40 ft mast kit using roof rake poles is contained in a large fishing rod case with shoulder strap.

How do you upgrade HAMRS to the current version? My 73Linux version is 1.0.6 and the current version is 1.0.7. apt update/upgrade doesn¡¯t do it. Is it because the linux version is an AppImage?

AFAIK, there's not one available. I know someone that had to reinstall Windows on their Evolve and they lost sound as well after the reinstall. --
