Re: FreeDV

Jason,
Would you also consider adding D-RATS to the mix of software?
Not sure if there is a better place to post this requests, but following Don example.
Thanks

BC map in which program Don?

It seems where I downloaded the Off Line map for BC Aprsdroid has changed

Loaded up APRS.
Which APRS program are you using?

GPS didn't seem to track or beacon
Did the GPS have a lock on the satellites?

All I know is the GPS DIY gps I had on the roof of the car. This GPS worked in the house before I took the PI 4 out for it's road trip.

Re: FreeDV

Mumble seems to suffer with noise. On a good strong signal, it¡¯s acceptable. But add typical HF noise and lots of unpleasant artifacts appear.?

I used Skype for a number of years and likely still would. That is the quality level to strive for.?

Pi 4 and using hot spot

I got my Pi 4 out in the mobile today. Is there away to get a BC map. I see I had check download new map. I'm going to remove that.?

The Pat Menu started up. I started Bluetooth. Loaded up APRS. The GPS didn't seem to track or beacon. I have logged into hotspot. My icon aka wheelchair has not moved. I have to find FAQ or something on that program to follow my tracks, and have the map show a full map not a 1/2 with white and the other side as a map?

Re: FreeDV

Setting up duplex audio is the big stumbling block without using skype or some other 2nd party software. Mumble does not work well either. RigPi is a convoluted mess with it's audio. HTML 5 can do it but software very complex. Whoever solves IP duplex audio with open source software will be a real hero.

Hi Daff,

EDIT: I was able to install it from file manager (just like windows) by right clicking on the file and opening file and was then asked if I wanted to install it! Worked and my problem?seems to be resolved with the 2.2.1 version as I suspected! Then used the hold command and that said it worked also...

?Thanks for the quick reply!
I got the file wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb? into the download area and navigated there in terminal and executed the command sudo apt install ./wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb
and got the following:

pi@raspberrypi:~/Downloads $ sudo apt install ./wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb
Reading package lists... Done
E: Unsupported file ./wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb given on commandline
pi@raspberrypi:~/Downloads $?
?
So I am not sure what to do here...

I am a complete noob on this command line stuff.

Appreciate your help.

Re: Build a Pi 3.0.3 Released

P.S.

You can also download v.2.2.1 for your laptop from the link I sent in previous email. Just pick the right package for your laptop's OS.

Hi, Mike!

Get armhf version from here:

Then open a console (terminal window) in directory where is v.2.2.1 and install it via this command:

sudo apt install ./wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb

It will overwrite v.2.2.2 with the old version.
If it is successful, then it's good to mark v.2.2.1 not to be updated via scripts, etc:

sudo apt-mark hold wsjtx

If later there is a new version with the corrected bug then unmark the package:

sudo apt-mark unhold wsjtx

My problem is that I can't find an older version for the Pi. ver 2.2.1 which works ok on both machines. When I search for add/remove programs on the pi, it only comes up with the latest 2.2.2.?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
