I tried all of that. Am I supposed to see the 4 dials while running the Vara modem ? If so, my installation is faulty. If it¡¯s supposed to run in the background, we need a method to change settings that would ordinarily be on that drop menu on the dial window.
I can¡¯t seem to get to it, no way, no how. And I¡¯m stuck without a PTT setting for the Digirig. If I were to change interfaces, I would still need to adjust those settings. I just need to get to them.

Don't forget, although it does have an equivalent to the Pi3 CPU, it only has half the RAM, which might have issues with running multiple packages at the same time for you. For most 'single purpose' setups (Single app) it works decently, but if it needs to enable SWAP, it really slows down a lot.

Bruce's script didn't load Pat even though?Build a Pi update said it was loaded and redid it now Conky says pat is active. Flrig running for Xiegu G90. loads but radio will not qsy. Pat menu says rig:yes
back to researching. I'll be glad when I get my Pi Zero 2 w.

I am not really sure what is causing the issue. Something could have changed in the build process for 64bit OS that I am not aware of. Let's see if it will install manually. Been trying to get build a pi on my pi. But seem to encounter this problem. Any idea what it could be? Using the 4Gb Pi 4 and had this happen once so gave up and now trying again to see if I can get all packages working. Tried the update workaround and patch-menu as that worked before but it does not work this time.  Do you know what is causing this? Will 2M0WHN

The RPi Zero W2 is based on the same CPU as the RPi 3B+ (quad-core, full-speed, reduced memory).
It should run about as well as it would on an RPi 3B+.

The long answer is, box86 (which runs VARA on Raspberry Pi¡¯s) does work on Pi Zero 2W, but might not be able to use ¡°dynarec¡± on the Zero 2W (which gives box86 its speed over other emulators). The Zero 2W might also need to be configured to use a custom-compiled kernel with a kernel memory split that works with Wine, although I also haven¡¯t scouted that out yet to know for sure. There are some more instructions on the box86 website if you want to give it?a try. I don¡¯t have any plans to get a Zero 2W to test with but it would be a nice addition to the Winelink script if somebody wanted to make a pull request with code to make it work)

My guess is that the modem is not able to decode the reply. PAT does a lot of retries and it usually eventually works.? Is this par for the course?

?But how do you get Vara FM to show up ? When the Vara FM modem is activated, I get an hourglass and then Chromium PAT inbox and that¡¯s it. I don¡¯t see the 4 dials as I would in Windows. If I just click Vara FM in the menu, I just get the hourglass and nothing else. If I click it again, it will tell me that the modem is already running - I don¡¯t SEE anything.?
I haven¡¯t clicked on Vara HF or just plain Vara, so maybe I need to explore this a bit deeper. It shouldn¡¯t be this hard to setup. There¡¯s an icon for Vara sound card setup, but it will only let you set the sound card, not anything else.

I don't have control over that GitHub and I haven't personally played with the build. Try posting an issue ticket I don't think they have a forum setup yet for folks that need help.

Glad you got it figured out. Out of curiosity, did you install the GPS software with Build a Pi? If so, it should have set the USBAUTO to false by default. If it didn't, I need to look into it and figure out why not. --

I'm using an HP ProBook Laptop with Raspberry Pi Desktop OS. I've downloaded the Script from?
Before I load the script I could reboot the laptop and it goes right into the Grub Boot Loader. As soon as the CQ-Linux Rasperry?script gets loaded. I have to really work at getting ESC to show the HP boot menu. This goes to a menu where I arrow down to the hard drive. I click on it and the Grub loader loads raspberry?pi desktop software.
I know some stuff from Build a Pi but I'm clueless in this. Is there a way?to use the terminal to reload a grub loader or is this a kernel?issue?
