It might be as simple as adjusting your audio levels. To adjust audio levels on the Pi, run: alsamixer Once it opens, press F6 and then select your sound card. Adjust as needed. Press esc to save and exit. --

ICOM 7300 RPI3B+ Pat Winlink Session Problem
I am trying to get Pat to work. This is a new build a pi install, and I am new to Pat winlink. So far it will do a connect acknowledgement, but will then spend the rest of the session sending neg ack's. Strong sigs. The connection works on winlink express on windows. The capture audio is mid scale. Although, I had to turn my rig data audio to max to get it there, and I don't seem to have any way on the rpi to adjust the capture audio level. This is over HF w/ the ARDOP modem. No problems running JS8Call.
Any thoughts?

Happy to report this was a 100% fix.? Well done, Jason!
SignaLink PTT wouldn't trigger at first.? I bumped up the drive level within VARA's soundcard settings and it's working like a champ now.

No not an issue with signal strength or solar interference. I have a GPS lock and gridsquare. I can see all the gps data from terminal using cgps -s.?

It probably isn't a signal strength or solar interference issue (at least not in the central US) EM78dh, as I use 2 USB U-blox GPSs on my network (one goes to the field with me) for network time and gridsquare reporting. I use Python3 (plus gpsdclient and maidenhead for python3) instead of Ruby/Gem for my determination script (but creates the same /run/user/1000/gridinfo.txt file) and uses chrony and gpsd to give the time ticks to the rest of my network(s). I have rebooted both machines (a VBox Debian 11 VM and an RPi4-4GB) and both locked and synced to the US GPS constellation in minutes.

I did nothing and i have a fix again. I am using latest BAP, 32 Bit Bullseye on Pi4 with the USB Glonass/GPS UBlox 7. Device is plugged directly into USB of PI, no other USB attached other than power, and it is about a foot from my window.
And, a minute?later, GPS reads NO GPS. This will be my final share on this, just wanted to pass word that maybe it's just conditions if you are seeing GPS data coming in. Check XGPS, it takes a few minutes for data to populate. ... FIX is back again. Ha.

Correction, that was after 30 minutes?of another restart... so, several hours of no fix, then a fix, 30 minutes after re engaging GPS Update Tool. Still no lock again, i'll reply if i get another fix.
MIne wasn't working all morning. It was seeing satellites in XGPS, but no fix. I just got a fix, after sitting there for about 30 minutes... Maybe?try to re-engage?the GPS Update Tool in accessories. And... the GPS just went back to "No GPS" in Conky. Could be the solar conditions as of late. Being that i got a grid for a bit, i think it's a conditions error.

Mark is on the right track. We can run the commands manually to check for any errors. Run this command and see if it will grab the grid or produce any errors: $HOME/bin/conky/get-grid If you get no errors, run: $HOME/bin/conky/grid ? --

I think implementation is still stock.? Check the following on your implementation.
This line in ${HOME}.conkyrc populates the Gridsquare field in the Conky desktop display.

I can't seem to get Conky to display my Gridsquare, Bullseye OS everything updated. Fresh install of Build-A-Pi (BAP). I am definitly getting GPS data when I run cgps -s from terminal I can see my gridsquare and GPS data. I tried other suggestions for installing maidenhead (sudo gem install maidenhead) but I get the gem not found. Yes Ruby is installed and gpsd_clients. I'm out of ideas and any suggestions are appreciated.?

No joy for me. After the update and above fix, VARA HF connection using DATA-U mode for FT-891 gets the PTT stuck on. When I switch to USB mode, the exchange timing seems off. Like it sends the connect request and another too soon while the receiving station is trying to acknowledge. Put the old card back in, same settings everything¡¯s fine. Once I did get an exchange, the nag screen comes up for VARA but no actual exchange. The terminal monitor prints Starting HTTP Service (http://0.0.0.0:8080) and then the CW id happens. I think the exchange happens but it never prints status updates.
Ardop connects successfully but no exchange after the initial connect. After a bit it gives up and disconnects.
AX.25 still has the no-repeat connection.
VARAFM gives the Command I wasn¡¯t expecting: Wrong, but connects successfully.
I tested VARA HF last night and didn't have any issues with PTT getting stuck while running Pat 0.13 with the 705. VARAFM error has been documented and the fix is in the works. The ax25 issue has been sent to the Pat dev team. I am awaiting a reply. --

Glad you got it working! K0SI is one of my goto gateways. You might want to check out "Pat Auto Connect" in Pat Menu. This could help you locate a backup gateway in the event that K0SI was down. Figure out how many kilometers K0SI is from you. Then use Pat Auto Connect and set the distance parameters a bit closer/farther. Let auto connect do it's thing and it may find a backup gateway for you. If it successfully completes a connection, it will make an entry into the "mylog" that is in the Documents directory. --
