If you are using bullseye, in preferences, under headless, there is screen size. The default is none. Choose your screen size on the pi that you want to vnc into.

Hi Jason,
So, I am using a Yeasu FT-8800 for 2m and IC-7300 for HF. I can receive packet info on the APRS frequency on my 2m with pat http and direwolf running. For 2m, I open Direwolf and terminal window with pat http, then I go to browser and open localhost:8080 I don't know if I have a port number misrepresented somewhere.? I try to send using ax25 but it will not connect. I will double check that I have AX25 installed. For HF, I open ARDOPC and ARDOP GUI, I open terminal window and pat http. Open browser and localhost:8080 I try to send using ARDOP, but it does not engage the radio.? I think I may have port number or something not correct for the Pi to talk to the radio. FLDigi works just fine on the HF side. I know it is going to be something simple that I am overlooking. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Hotspot Tools issue with home SSID
Hello Joseph, I had an issue with my wifi when there was a space in the SSID. Seems like the Rpi wouldn't connect up. I do have other Rpi's at my house, but they are for non-ham things that don't use the Hotspot script. All was fixed when I changed?my SSID and removed spaces. 73's ? -- Mike WB8ERJ Geeze! Hotspot Tools issue with home SSID
GA all
I don't have screencaps handy just now, but I can get them if needed. When I open Hotspot Tools and select "Managae SSIDs", I might have two networks saved, but there will be four lines. One of the networks has three words with spaces separating them, and each word appears as a separate line. Ideally, I'd like each network to appear as a separate line, no matter how many spaces are in one name. It's my dad's network so I can't just go ahead and rename it without spaces.? Has anyone noticed this before?? Thanks for everything you do for the hobby, Jason! I love the script and have been using it since V2. 73 de VE3GKT? |
Re: Heads-up for Canadian Miady battery
Hey Terry, I don't know what size batteries you use in your chair. However I got rid of my 2 heavy as fun! And replaced with liposuction. My chair will actually travel about 3 miles further with less weight. I then took two more of these lightweight batteries to make a radio pack with. I forget about them often on back of chair and have nearly caused a fire by crushing one of them when backed up out of way. After that, I don't leave attached to chair unless actively using it. The two Batts in chair were 12@55A, which make for great backup system in house with the yearly exchange on batteries. On Sat, Feb 12, 2022, 8:52 AM Don Poaps <va7dgp@...> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI don¡¯t have any experience doing this but I would think you could use a cheap SDR receiver dongle and software to look at the signal. You should be able to see how wide it is on the screen. Jeff Townsend WB8LYJ

Unless you changed the account name, it should be pi for username. ?Should also be your pi password.?

I was able to ping the IP. I then was able to verify that VNC was enabled. Now I can¡¯t remember what username and password combo to use when settiup the vnc connection. I should remember but this one brain doesn¡¯t retain like it use to. I thought is was pi-star then password. Nope. Tried raspberry pie then password. Nope. Then pi@IP. Nope.?

Another possible answer:? Sometimes when I boot my Pi it fails to recognize my Wifi so I have to wait until the Hospot timer tries again.? I set mine to 2 minutes.? Then it works as usual.? For some reason it turns on the hotspot on boot and I end up with a 10.10.10.10 address.? If you connect Ethernet at boot you can always come in on that address and see what is going on with Conky.? Your router might be hanging on to the old address (the way it should) as addresses are given a lease when they are assigned and that address will continue to be used as long as the device is used within the lease period.? Often youu can VNC into it using the hostname of the Pi, like vnc raspberrypi? try that.
