Re: Evolve iii Linux audio driver

AFAIK, there's not one available. I know someone that had to reinstall Windows on their Evolve and they lost sound as well after the reinstall.

PATRON 73Linux problem loading WSJT-X

I am trying to get a new 8GB RPi 5 with 64 Bit Raspberry Pi OS running ham radio apps using 73Linux. I believe I've got the latest version of 73Linux loaded (4.02?). But every time I attempt to load WSJT-X the result is no WSJT-X under the ham radio apps. I see an error when 73Linux tries to install WSJT-X and that same error was addressed two weeks ago on GitHub as BUG#61. I've tried uninstalling 73Linux and re-installing it several times. No change in results. Also get a "MODEM FAILED TO START error when I try to run ARDOP. VARA did not load either with 73Linux but I see that there is a topic already covering the VARA loading problem.

I am hoping to avoid reformatting the SDRAM card with the Raspberry Pi OS and re-loading 73Linux as a possible solution, but that is the only thing I have yet to try as a solution to the WSJT-X problem.

Evolve iii Linux audio driver

My Evolve III audio works fine with a third party USB audio dongle.

Has anyone figured out a Linux driver for the built in audio chip set?

Re: RPi 5 IC7300 no output from WSJT-X

When I see this on my Icom IC-705 (similar radio from the digital interface perspective), I check to see if I am in Upper Side Band Mode (USB) rather than USB-D mode.

Any help?

RPi 5 IC7300 no output from WSJT-X

Steve AI7SV

Loaded OS image using the RPi imager
Loaded 73Linux with ONLY HamClock and WSJT-X
Connected IC7300 USB cable.? CAT control works. WSJTX is decoding the selected band.
Audio Soundcard is alsa_input.usb-Burr-Brown_from_TI_USB_Audio_CODEC-00.analog-stereo and alsa_output.usb-Burr-Brown_from_TI_USB_Audio_CODEC-00.analog-stereo

When I transmit, ALC on the IC7300 indicates nothing is going out. Id shows appropriate level of current in the finals.
When I plug the USB cable into a Win10 or Win11 computer, WSJT-X works

Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: 73Linux install sequence

I understand this now, but what I need to know id what comes after Vara in the install sequence so I can go back and get the missing stuff installed.?

Re: Trouble installing WSJT-x on Pi 4 with 73-Linux

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I running ?a Raspberry Pi 4, Bookworm. ?73-linux is 4.02. ?Its in a ArgonOne case with a SSD drive.

Going back to beginning (I forgot a detail).
When running WSJTX, it stopped as candidate time period expired.
Run 73-linux to install latest version, but no new version was listed as ¡°available¡± but the 2.7_candidate version was listed as installed.
Used 73-Linux to uninstall the candidate version and was successful.
Ran 73-linux again and now it shows no new version and installed version is ¡°0¡±.
Had 73-linux install wsjtx anyway - No luck. ?Below is the output from terminal window (in blue). ?It appears that the program cannot find the source.forge WSJTX_2.6.1 deb file.

Next, I thought I try to download the wsjtx_2.6.1_arm64.deb file and install manually. ?I tried sudo dpkg -i filename.deb command and also the apt install command to install. ?Both failed. ?Those errors are below in red. ?

I did successfully install wsjtx_2.6.1 using the Pi¡¯s ¡°Add¡¯Remove Software¡± .
The program icon was added to the hamradio menu group. ?However, 73-linux does not detect that the program is installed.

Lastly, I moved 73-linux folder to 73-Linux.old and reinstalled the program. ?This had no effect. ?For WSJTX, it still lists nothing under ¡°Available¡± and ¡°0¡± as installed.

New Note: ?I am setting up a new Raspberry Pi 5, with the Geekworm SSD bottom hat installed with operating system. ?Running 73-linux to install programs on it and I noticed that again for WSJTX it as nothing listed under ¡°Available¡± and ¡°0¡± for installed (which is correct as I have not installed the program). ?

73Linux install sequence

Hi All?
installed 73Linux and the install hung at Vara. I had to force quit the install. Items before the freeze at Vara seemed to all install correctly. Can anyone tell me the install sequence from Vara on? That way I can run the installer and just select what I might be missing. Thanks!

Re: Trouble installing WSJT-x on Pi 4 with 73-Linux

Which platform are you using? Pi or x86? Are you running the latest (4.0.2) version of 73Linux?

Will it update if you put a check mark by WSJTX even though the current/latest doesn't show?

FT-DX10 swithes to TX when setting up CAT control

I am working on getting my FT-DX10 to work with the Pi4 running Bookworm and 73-Linux. ?In both programs as I click on test CAT, the radio immediately switches to TX mode and stays in that state (no power out). ? I have to power down the transceiver in order to stop it. ?

I also notice that if I plug the USB cable into the PI when the radio is on, it will switch to TX mode momentarily. ?

Are there some settings I am missing?

Trouble installing WSJT-x on Pi 4 with 73-Linux

I had WSJT-x 2.7.0- that was a development release, which expired in January (as per the program note). ?I tried to install the latest version, but noticed that 73-linux does not have WSJTX to install. ?The program is listed but the latest and installed columns for it are empty. ?What is the recommended method to install the program? ?

Sabrent problem

My Sabrent has worked fine until today. ?It works fine in JS8Call, but in WSJT-X there is no input. ?I can transmit (confirmed on PSK Reporter), but no sound on the receive side. ?I plugged in a speaker and confirmed that the problem is not the radio. ?I have output set to default. ?I set input to default, but that does not fix the problem and if I close and restart the program, input is set to none. ?Again, all is fine in JS8Call. ?Any suggestions?

Got all to work now. Thanks for the replies.

Re: Pat V0.12 port configuration issue :: SOLVED

Here is what i get when i run those commands.
This was a fix when moving from pat .11 to pat .12 almost 3 years ago. You probably don't need this in 2021.

I saw the page while working with the emergency email server. When putting 10.10.10.10/email.php I forgot the email.php. Late night and brain fried at the time.

sudo chmod a+rw /dev/tty..."? is setting "permission" ( rw sets read-write) I was setting it to 777 (full permission) "back" when I started using Mint, years ago.? With time/updates, I no longer had to set permission (don't know what changed).??

I am seeing issues on RPi5 OS64bit that I had on RPi4 when I went to 64 bit OS.? If only I could remember what I had to modify...
I will be looking back at emails (this group) as I know it can be fixed.? Still using RPi4, overclocked portable, but RPi5 IS faster + NVMe is fast too.

I figured this might be a good place to ask this.

On my Linux Mint laptop, every time I want to enable CAT control for JS8, WSJT, FLDIGI, etc, I have to open terminal and enter " sudo chmod a+rw /dev/tty..." replacing the "..." with whatever serial device ID like USB0 or ACM0. I can't remember how I learned this trick, and honestly don't have a clue what it means. Is there some way to make this permanent?
I hope my question makes sense.

It's an evolve laptop.

try just wsjt without the -data?

the package is in Debian, but it may not be resolved by just installing wsjt?
