PAT Menu fails treying to open localhost or 127.0.0.1

I have two servers, both with Linux mint/73 Linux installed.
One uses either Firefox Browser & Chrome. While the other server I gave Firefox and MS Edge to.

I 'believe' i have disabled any form of firewall. There are no proxys . Both servers can otherwise easily browse the web.

Yet when I run PAT Menu on either, On any browser, I get "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED"

Re: chrony GPS time offset on Build-a-Pi

I run a raspad3 with a build-a-pi/73linux build on it.

Usually sync my time via wifi before I leave the house. Sometimes had to reset the time by hand ( date function and phone) when I noticed it had drifted. So,etimes it got better, sometimes it got worse. Now I am updating the time with GPS update command from the the phone via the Hotspot.

I did the chrony mod you suggest Monday morning. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet as my POTA time is on the weekends and nothing set up at home currently.

I'll post sometime this weekend what I notice. I am planning to setup the 70cm stuff to test out this Saturday night.

Re: chrony GPS time offset on Build-a-Pi

It's possible. I recall one particular POTA activation where my DT kept creeping higher and higher, up to around 2.0s, and a Pi restart didn't fix it. I am still sick here so I haven't had the opportunity to get out and test my changes yet. I have also not yet passed these changes from my Pi 4 8gb to my Pi 4 4gb and Pi Zero 2 W.

Do you run a Windows or Raspberry Pi platform for your roves? I use Raspberry Pi for most of my POTA and Windows for my roves. If you use Windows, I recommend N1MM with integrated WSJT-X for logging and digimodes, and BKTTIMESYNC with a USB dongle for GPS time sync. Another thing to note is that I had excellent luck using Bluetooth to network two laptops together with N1MM. Bluetooth was, in my tests, way more reliable than using ethernet between the laptops. As I recall I could not get Wifi working.

GPS time syncing is a fascinating topic!?

Re: YAAC will not start #73linux #bullseye

I had a similar problem and found that Java needed another file installed.
I installed openjdk-17-dbg and YAAC ran.
Check for latest version.

Re: YAAC will not start #73linux #bullseye

Test to see if it will start from the command line with:
~/YAAC/./YAAC

YAAC will not start #73linux #bullseye

I just made a fresh install of Debian Bullseye 64bit on my Pi 4B. I justed 73 Linux to install YAAC. It will not start.

Re: chrony GPS time offset on Build-a-Pi

Hey Joseph.

I'm wondering if that could explain my not decoding anything on 70cm back a few months ago.

I know I was being replied back to as I listen to what I receive and I have noticed an increase in signals and strengths after I send.

Looking to test things this weekend before operating the january vhf contest.

That error is ignorable and I forget if building source here but bookworm recently moved libudev-dev I think may have caused issues with compile, possibly the issue??

CONKY not on far right side #conky

Hello,

I performed a fresh install of Bookworm and BAP on a PI4 and CONKY is in the center of the screen. There are a few screen issues. The "HAM RADIO" tab will not scroll down and HAM CLOCK is too big for the screen.?

I found a past post for this issue with Bullseye and was unable to remedy this concern. I know it has to be a screen setting issue.

WSJTX won't install and CONKY won't run

Re: ft2980 and signalink aprs Help

The signal link keys a cm108 chip to trigger ptt via vox essentially?

so you will have no CAT classically as there is no serial in that device?

Aka no ports just sound card I/O so finding the cards number (arecord -l ) and putting it into direwolf

Re: Wifi Drivers

Below are my notes on the wifi driver for the Maestro III.? ?I copied and amended the notes from info I found on various sites.??

? --? Follow the instructions to install/update wifi drivers.

?

git clone https://github.com/lwfinger/rtw88.git

cd rtw88

make

sudo make install

?

?

??Remember, every new kernel requires this step - no exceptions.

cd ~/rtw88

git pull

make

sudo make install

?

May only need make and make install? --? May also require reboot!

?

?

sudo modprobe -rv rtw_8723du??? #This unloads the module

sudo modprobe -r rtw_core???????#Due to some peculiarities in the modprobe utility, two steps are required.

?

sudo modprobe -v rtw_8723du ? ? ?#This loads the module? (rtw_core load not required)

ft2980 and signalink aprs Help

Jeff

I have watched both videos on the aprs set up for digipeater.? Of the two the baofeng was most valuable for the set up and programing steps for direwolf and xastir.? I note the list command revealed the audio codecs for the signal link kit with the baofeng.? However the set up for the ft2980 two cable are used.? One into the mic for pit and a speaker cable.? And the list command show the audio codec and a speaker port.? Question:? What is the direwolf code for the ft2980 setup?? ? For the Ports.....

Re: 73 linux

If the directory is still there, you can start 73 from the command line with:
~/73Linux/./73.sh

If the directory has been deleted, reinstalling 73 only requires one command and will not mess up your current configuration
git clone https://github.com/km4ack/73Linux.git $HOME/73Linux && bash $HOME/73Linux/73.sh
