Create /etc/modprobe.d/brcm-blacklist.conf with the following content:
blacklist brcmfmac
blacklist brcmutil
Reboot, and WiFi should be disabled. You may find errors in the system log depending on what method you are using to configure the network.
Another option: add: dtoverlay=disable-wifi
to /boot/config.txt to disable wifi. I have tested it with a Raspberry Pi 4B. It is also valid for Pi4.

Agreed, I can program but I haven¡¯t used Linux enough to build something like BAP.

I'm pounding my head against the wall here. I have a pi4 8gb, a digirig 1.6, and a tx-500 with the latest firmware 1.12.08. I have flashed a new image of bullseye 11 on the pi. Updated the pi. Ran the build-a-pi script to install Pat, Pat menu, flrig, and hamlib. I have configured flrig which works properly. However when I start the the ardop modem either using the Pat menu or CLI it totally locks up my pi. I downloaded a version from cantab.net/users/john.wiseman/downloads/ and it worked one time now it locks up again everytime I run ardop. Has anyone else seen this, am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Build a Pi 64 bit Beta Testers Needed
Jason - I followed your instructions and that fixed my ARDOP problem.??
I use a CM108/119 based soundcard interface that uses the GPIO-3 pin for PTT.? Direwolf 1.6 does not support CM108/3.? It is supported by 1.7 beta versions.? I have been using 1.7 beta versions for a year with the interface and various versions of the Raspberry Pi. I replaced the BAP Direwolf 1.6 with the latest 1.7 and it seems to be working fine with the 64bit BAP beta.? Flrig plays well with the CM119/3 interface.

Very good to hear Julian =)?? I too use Linux OS computers at home and in the field =)?? I just wish I knew more about programming to help out =)

It would make an interesting COMMUNITY effort, I'm reluctant to bully Jason into supporting an additional platform.
Just my opinion, Ken, N2VIP

I have a Pi that I built about 2-3 years ago using your utility. If I rerun your latest code from Github will it install all the updates and retain all my settings for the various applications? For e.g. FlRig, WSJT-X, etc. etc.

I flashed a new card and tried on pre bullseye version of pi os. I can¡¯t get it to work over that nor hotspot. I don¡¯t have a vpn running. Saw something in the group chat about that port possibly being blocked. How can I figure o what is blocking it and where? Tried through WiFi, the wired IP address and hotspot. Ran the BaP update tool and tried again. Still can¡¯t get gps data to go. Double checked video so GPS2IP settings were exact same as yours, other than IP address. Checked it was toggled on.?
How can I ensure that port is not blocked??
thanks! -jon [KF0DUQ]

Yes, hdmi_force_hotplug=1 has been uncommented all along. The lag I speak of is specific to Chromium.... Thanks for the suggestion...

Multiple Apps using Sound Device at the same time
This is probably an elementary problem, but I can't tackle it without having to revert back to Windows.
This is using BaP with Bullseye 32-bit.? I don't remember pre-Bullseye having this much problem.
I would like to be able to use FLDigi and JS8Call at the same time.? However, only one device can have the sound card.? I have tried multiple things - just selecting Pulse Audio and not the device itself.? This will work for the first app to start, but when I start the other, it doesn't get audio.? If I select the hardware itself, I won't see it on the other app (ICOM-7300).? If I do kappanhang on a 705, I can see it working on multiple apps.? So I'm wondering if there is a PulseAudio setting that I am missing, or if this may be pipewire causing an issue.
Thanks. Jeffrey/N5SNT

Have you tried enabling hot_plug in config.txt?
I have not seen lagging issues with mine that are headless, but I did enable hot_plug and set resolution in raspi-config.

So far, only tested on Pi 4's (2GB and 8GB?ram) and 64 bit OS.? Installed Conky with the 64 bit Beta v3.2.3 Build-a Pi script.
?
Background:
I usually run Pi's headless,?even on initial configuration I never connect monitor kb or mouse. Simply SSH in, raspi-config and once configed and updated run VNC.
?
Chromium performance on Pi4 has always sucked i.e. keyboard input into?the?address bar has always lagged sometimes maybe 1.5 seconds between keystrokes, so I almost never used it.? And Conky usually launched and stayed in the middle of the screen despite me configuring it for right hand side and making the recommended /boot/config.txt changes for the video.

Next day, disconnected the BAP pi from external monitor kb and mouse, booted headless and VNC'd from laptop, Conky was back to the middle.? Tried Chromium for the heck of it and it was laggy again..Hmmmm...
?
Did a few A/B comparisons booting Pi with a HDMI monitor attached / headless and VNC'ing?in??with?consistent results?- Chromium laggy headless, normal with HDMI monitor attached.? (Required reboot after attaching monitor to correct the issues)
?
Conclusions:
Based on limited testing when using VNC with and without monitor attached to Pi at boot: 1. When running "headless" (no physical HDMI monitor or no HDMI emulator attached) Chromium in it is so laggy it is? basically unusable except for emergency?use.....?
?
Workaround:?
Make the Pi think there is an HDMI monitor attached.? Approx. $10 per Pi hardware solution
?
Implementation:
I purchased a "HDMI emulator", a thumbnail sized device which emulates a? 1920x1080x60? HDMI monitor and the appropriate adapter cable (micro HDMI male to HDMI female) and no more lagging Chromium or mis-aligned Conky.? Maybe it will help some other stuff also? Re: Argon One case and poor WLAN
I have some edimax from older raspies, which I want to use, the question, how to deactivate the build in wlan and to activate the external edimax, also to use Jason¡®s mechanism to automatically switch to hotspot mode, if there is no connection to the local wlan.

Re: Argon One case and poor WLAN
Principal no problem, but as it is the only raspi4 I have and the prices of a raspi4 actually is more than double the price as one year ago, I do not want to make a risk to damage ?

Use chrony and the GPS for your time syncing.
Works for most of my needs..
