Re: Custom Templates and Forms in Pat Winlink

I am fairly certain that Pat will support custom forms but double check with the Pat dev team. They hang out in this forum -

Linux Help
I'm using an HP ProBook Laptop with Raspberry Pi Desktop OS. I've downloaded the Script from? Before I load the script I could reboot the laptop and it goes right into the Grub Boot Loader. As soon as the CQ-Linux Rasperry?script gets loaded. I have to really work at getting ESC to show the HP boot menu. This goes to a menu where I arrow down to the hard drive. I click on it and the Grub loader loads raspberry?pi desktop software. I know some stuff from Build a Pi but I'm clueless in this. Is there a way?to use the terminal to reload a grub loader or is this a kernel?issue? 73 Don Poaps New Westminster, BC VA7DGP DATA VA7QU ? VOICE Winlink: va7qu@... Subject://wl2k ? ? ? ? ? Custom Templates and Forms in Pat Winlink
#pat
I have some custom forms I use regularly with a Winlink group I manage. I'd like to port them to pat winlink on my RPi. I tried putting them in a directory with other forms, but Pat doesn't recognize them. Same when I put them in their own folder alongside the standard forms. I'm guessing here, but it seems like Pat only supports standard forms, and has even the names of the folders hard-coded. Has anyone figured out how to implement custom forms or templates with Pat Winlink on the Raspberry Pi?

Re: HT keying with Digirig
As an addendum, I figured out packet. Direwolf is used as the modem when the Digirig in in line. So, I remember a video recently about Direwolf (which I had never used) and discovered a setting in Direwolf.conf that I had to uncomment out -> PTT /dev/ttyUSB0 RTS. When I saved that, packet began to work. The packets sent sounded a bit truncated compared to those I normally hear ie from Mobilinkd, but it finally worked and connected to my Gateway. AFAIK, there is no way to adjust tail length, delay, etc of the packets themselves.

The PTT setting in VARA FM I presume is in the Windows app that is called by Wine. Is there a config file I need to know about to modify in the same way ? 73, Jamie WB4YDL On Sep 20, 2022, at 5:52 PM, James C. Hall, MD WB4YDL <heartdoc@...> wrote: |
HT keying with Digirig
I posted something on this awhile back and am just now able to work on it. The Digirig is wonderful with radios that have CAT control and I can use FlRig. VARA HF works wonderfully well.
However, on those radios without CAT capability and just the audio cable connected to the Digirig, how do you get the radio to key with VARA FM or packet ?? I tried different audio levels and I even tried FlRig as a NO RIG with just the generic PTT. Nothing I have tried works so far. The radios are the FT-65r and the VX-8dr. On a MS Surface Go using Win10, it works very well. I would like to get to this point using BAP. 73, Jamie WB4YDL |
Well after much searching I found the offending setting.? From?
"if you are using GPS ensure you are explicitly specifying the GPS device you are using and disable USB hot add/remove of devices in the /etc/default/gpsd file." Whoda thunk it?? In the /etc/default/gpsd file set the following: # Automatically hot add/remove USB GPS devices via gpsdctl USBAUTO="false" |
Just got my DigiRig today looking to replace my tried and true SignaLink that has served me many years with my first digital mode JT65.? Now that I am into POTA the DigiRig + Build-a-Pi + FT817 and I have a great POTA gear bag.? However it doesn't work.? Plugged up the DigiRig and Build-a-Pi and the following port appeared:??usb-Silicon_Labs_CP2102N_USB_to_UART_Bridge_Controller_968edf4dad67ec1193961f42ef680de7-if00-port0.? When I try to send CAT commands to it using flrig or rigctl no response from the radio.? Baud rate is correct.? Plugged the DigiRig into a Windows machine everything works.? I have a USB CAT cable that works with this configuration.? So is there a setting or driver I am missing?

Re: Disable PAT ?
For anyone else that may be wondering, you can stop the Pat service with:
sudo systemctl stop pat@<USERNAME> The above will only stop it for the current session and the Pat service will restart on a reboot. To permanently disable, run the above followed by sudo systemctl disable pat@<USERNAME> If you later change your mind, run the following two commands to enable again: sudo systemctl start pat@<USERNAME> sudo systemctl enable pat@<USERNAME> -- 73, de KM4ACK

Re: ARDOP/piardopc locks up during transmit **SOLVED**
It's on my mobile. I also use a Chinese JPC-12 from DX Canada in Stoney Creek, Ontario. This past weekend I was in Gibson, BC and during my afternoon free time. I connected to XE2BC, KO0OOO and a KB0YNO (The last 2 calls I think I got wrong.) Mexico, California, and Las Vegas, NV.? 73 Don va7qu/va7dgp Don Poaps New Westminster, BC VA7DGP DATA VA7QU ? I performed the test that you asked me to do.Well shoot! I was hoping it would see the radio in one of those cases. This is a long shot but run: cat /etc/default/gpsd and let's take a look at your GPS configuration. Seems strange but I have seen this file for GPS interfere with Icom radios in the past. See if USBAUTO is set to true/false USBAUTO="false" If it is set to true, it could be creating the issue. ? -- 73, de KM4ACK
