I have an audio issue with a new install of 'Build a Pi V3¡¯.? I did the install a few days ago and the install worked fine.? I was watching the YouTube videos and following along to review the various features.? At some point the audio just stopped from the Pi.? I checked the normal things, audio was enabled and the proper output was chosen.? Remember it worked fine until it suddenly didn¡¯t.? I checked it in VNC mode and using an HDMI cable/sound.? It would not produce any audio.?
I then created a new SD card with Buster and installed it in the same Pi4.? The audio worked.? I tested by opening a web based video and playing it.? The audio played in both VNC and HDMI conditions.?
I then, on the same new SD card, proceeded to again run the ¡°Build a Pi V3¡¯ script.? I did a full install (all boxes checked).? Upon completion, there was no audio again.? My guess is that something in the V3 build, perhaps combined with a Pi update/upgrade is muting the audio.? Again it does not show as muted.?
I am running a Pi 4 4Mb,with a GPS dongle, wireless mouse dongle and a powered USB hub.? It has it¡¯s own supplied power supply.? When testing audio in a headless configuration, I have used a BT speaker that pairs with the Pi.? Audio when the monitor is attached runs through the HDMI.?
I have ordered another Pi, just incase there is some fault with this one.? It has not arrived yet but I will test as soon as I get it.
I am relatively new to Pi world and Linux but have been successful in getting standalone software to work.? I have a successful setup up using Pat Winlink and a Signalink connected to my TS2000.?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.?
Cheers.
