I got some of the Buck Converters with USB
-
recommended in the video, "Raspberry Pi Must Have Accessories
for Ham Radio Digital Modes Operators."
The
problem is, they produce so much Radio Frequency Interference
(RFI) on VHF that all three of my radios ( FLDIGI, Packet, and
Phone) are unusable.?
In an attempt to clean things up, I put ferrite beads in front
of and behind the converter.? It helped but, nowhere near
enough.
I
really wanted these to work as I want to be completely
independent of 120V and my powered USB port does not produce
enough amperage to run two Pi/Signalink combos.?
The red power lights on both the Pis flicker and a Signalink
will flutter on Tx.
?
Does
anyone have a suggestion for a 12V to 5V converter that is,
"clean?"
?
Thank
you,
Mark (AD7MR)
