Well, I¡¯ve got the PTT working. Thank you Jason. Now the audio out is perplexing me. The radio keys up and OCCASIONALLY transmits audio. Plugging a standard 3.5mm headphone plug into the sound card confirms that output is constant. That leads me to the problem existing between card and radio waves. (PEBCAR)

Thinking the cable might be faulty, I dissected the din plug and read for continuity between the plug and the pins on the inside as well as radio side of the plug. The cable checks 4.0. Worried that I was about to take a soldering iron to the inside of my 817, I moved everything over to my 857...just to make sure I wasn¡¯t insane.

The 857 exhibits the same behavior. Yes, I tried digital, pkt as well as straight FM on both transceivers. I even used a second audio 6 pin mini din to verify the cables were Physically identical as well as functionally identical.?

It ALMOST feels like a VOX delay issue. Similar to what happens to VOX circuits when sound is transmitted to trigger the PTT and you lose some of the message. I welcome any insight on this.?

?Hey Jason,

Sorry you ran into rig control issues but glad you found the fix. With build-a-pi, all of this is handled on the back end for you. There's really no reason to go into teh pat configure file except on rare occasion. Take a look at the Pat Menu config. Depending on which version you are running, hopefully v2, most all of it can be set there. I use and recommend FLRIG as my primary rig control app. Then I feed other applications into FLRIG. Even though this shows the 891, you will find a ton of info that will apply to the 857 as well. While I am thinking of it, please send me a private message through patreon and reference this post.

On to your direwolf issue. Provided you follow my advice above, you will need to add this line to direwolf PTT section. PTT RIG 2 localhost:4532 and if I remember correctly, I covered it in this video. I think it is about 3/4 of the way through.
