1) It is difficult to copy a live, running OS SD Card to another drive.
The best, safest way I've found is to make an image of the SDCard then burn that image to the new drive.
It's like the reverse of the original imaging process. I use Win32DiskImager, but you can do it with Balena Etcher, too, I think.
