Thanks for the response. I figured?it out about 6 hours after I shouted to the world. At any rate I have Buster up and running and just trying to figure some other things out. Yes I hope to get RealVNC running but for now I am using a monitor, keyboard?and mouse. I have added the gparted so I can handle the SSD when it arrives. I also added VNC. But before I do any more, I'm trying to figure out how to update the build-a-pi V3.0.8 to 3.0.9. This is like learning machine language for a main frame back in the early 70's.

Mike,
Once you have the zipped Buster download to your computer, you need to extract it and use something like Win32Disk Imager to copy it to the SD card. On Macs we use BalenaEtcher which will uncompress the zip file and then copy it to the SD. Win32DiskImager may do the same.
Are you going to use the Pi without a monitor? If so, there are a couple of other steps to make sure your wireless network can see the Pi. But that is another issue.?
Let me know,

Ok guy's. I'm very new to this Pi things as well as the language it uses and the OS. I have a Pi 4B and it came with a sd card loaded with Noobian. That went well. Now my problem. I was to create a new SD card with Buster desktop on it. I have the SD and the usb micro sd writer. I have down loaded (on windows) the buster zip file. Do I copy that to the SD and and unzip it on the card, then install the card in the Pi 4B and let i boot (pressing ctrl + shift + X during the boot)? I have watched the KM4ACK you-tube video's, but they are obviously for someone who is not jumping in for the very first time thank for any help 73 de KE5WCT Mike
