Do you have Pulse Audio installed? If so, the settings change every time you open a new application. For me the recording device settings go to 100% and I need to turn them down for proper receive levels.
If you don¡¯t have PulseAudio installed, I would have BaP install it and try it out. It is great for adjusting audio levels!
