There is a space after cat.
It appears you might be missing a couple of ruby gems. Run the following two commands

sudo gem install gpsd_client
sudo gem install maidenhead

and then try

/home/pi/bin/conky/grid
cat /run/user/$UID/gridinfo.txt

again.
