Don,
You are correct. There is an additional download from UZ7HO for PTT.
My sound card works just fine with my PC.
The Direwolf manual says the Master¡¯s Communication card should work.
Quote from the manual.
Commercial products:
? DINAH
? DMK URI
? RB-USB RIM
? RA-35
There may be an addition PTT file for Linux, but I have not seen it. I am attempting the install on a Raspberry Pi 3

Done some work on trying to solve the PTT part of Direwolf.
Somewhat similar error now, but can't get it resolved.
ERROR can't open device /dev/ttyUSB0 for channel 0 PTT control.
No such file or directory
Direwolf and Xastir are receiving just fine. I can see messages being sent to the radio and even the data over the speaker.
Data posts on Direwolf, but the radio never goes into transmit.
Again the sound card is a Master's Communication DRA30, which the Direwolf manual says is supported.
