Steve,
I appreciate it. I was able to get the RPi back to a useable config using a freshly burned uSD. However, I still cannot perform a cold boot without removing and re-inserting the USB3 adapter.
At some point, before I burned another uSD, the RPi wouldn¡¯t even detect the SSD. After perusing various websites not particular to the Argon M.2, I have found this is a known issue and could be related to the latest EEPROM. One website even said to use an EEPROM from September. This also appears to be an intermittent issue but I¡¯m not sure if it¡¯s an intermittent RPi4 issue or an intermittent issue with something else.
I don¡¯t think I¡¯m doing anything wrong. I have followed all instructions, watched multiple videos and I still have the same issue - no cold boot, loss of SSD, but reboots to SSD (when it¡¯s not lost).
I wish it would have worked. I know it does work for most but I guess I just got a lemon.
I have submitted an email to Argon Customer Support but at this point, I¡¯m jaded and have to walk away from it.
Thanks,
Joel, W4JBB

slow down...
start from
scratch and run first with the uSD with a new copy of OS (No
SSD).? Copy OS to USB SSD and a backup uSD.? Reboot.? (I have
a number of uSD cards for just this reason.? Make backup
copies, often)
If that doesn't
work, check and
?
for help.
Start over with a
new uSD OS...? I have done that many times when I was first
figuring things out.? small steps.?
Also, for me, the fact I can pop in a "new" uSD card into the
RPi to try a new OS or a new function (like fan control) is
great...
You may need to
check
?
to see if anything will help...? Make sure the eeprom code (on
your RPi) is the current version (there was a command - last
email).

Rebooting fixed the old config from the previous sentence.
Now the top USB3 port on the RPi4 will not work when in the Argon
ONE case. The top USB3 port does work in the original case but it
acts squirrelly now.
Sometimes, I just want stuff to work. I don't mind fiddling with
stuff but I have a career already. I don't need another one.
Yes, if it shows, I am beyond frustrated.?I'm just sending it all
back and using what I know works.
Thanks for trying to help but for me, the juice just ain't worth
the squeeze.
