The pictures below are what my Rig-PI looks like.? I have added the RTC directly to my PI underneath as to not take up any space on the GPIO, and then added the mSATA adapter you see.? It boots with Berryboot on the SD and immediately loads Buster from the SSD after that.? It's very quick, runs directly off the PI with no additional power supplies and it support multiple images.? This should aid in testing.? ?Hope this visual helps.? My next plan is to add a Buck converter so that I can power the whole thing with 12v.? I found one that is about the size of a dime and should fit?
