Good morning,
?
I am working on setting up Pat Winlink with ardop, and I have run into a few interesting issues.
?
Firstly, when I installed the various applications, I have to wonder if I had some sort of error because ardopc wasn't really installed. I had to manually go get piardopc from the? creator's site, which wasn't a problem.
?
Now that it's installed, it seems to start up OK and the gui attaches to it, and I even get data on the little waterfall in the ardop gui.
?
Immediately thereafter, Pat Winlink opens up in a browser. In the console at the bottom is the error message:
2025/04/23 09:27:06 Unable to get frequency from rig my-rig: dial tcp 127.0.0.1:4532: connect: connection refused.
To me, this looks like pat winlink has failed to connect to my rig control. Now, my assumption is that we are using FLRig for rig control. Pat Menu would not let me start the ardop modem without starting FLRig first, in fact, which is why I made this assumption. However, when I dig into my FLRig configuration, it's running xmlrpc on port 12345.
?
Finally, when I dig into the config settings in pat menu, I see a rig control command of:
/usr/local/bin/rigctl -m 4
?
This is interesting... what is this used for? I've tried executing that in a terminal and there is again no binary of that name at that location. Is there a package I am missing that I should install? It's my understanding that this command comes along for the ride when you install the hamlib libraries, but it's possible again that something failed to install. Is this something I need to fix?
?
Is there a way to change the port that Pat Winlink is trying to connect to, should I change FLRig's port, or am I totally misunderstanding what's happening here and need to do something else?
?
Thanks,
Donn
