I have set it up so that it would be just like a Wi-Fi router that you would purchase at a box store. I wanted it to be updated through ethernet when I come back from the field/POTA. Running updates through ethernet will be faster.

If you want it to be a Wi-Fi access point but also a client at the same time, I would recommend to get an external USB Wi-Fi adapter and use that for client access.
