?
I have a 7 PIs including 2 Pi Zeros and 5 PI 4s. I've done 200+ POTA activations with a Pi, most with no Internet connection and no problem. Two of my PIs have been running continously for years now. There was a bit of a learning curve when first starting out but after that it was smooth sailing.

A while ago i used BaP to get a pi up and running. Took a long time to learn and operate as i was new to it. Then, finally, once it functioned fine at home, i went on a quick 18 mile overnight backpack. Set up the radio, antenna, pi, tablet vnc, and got a security issue that wouldnt let the tablet connect for operation.

Got home, fixed that. A couple months later i went on another. Vnc had issues.

Thought i fixed that. Went on another and the vnc wouldnt work without wifi.

After ~2 years of trying with the pi, i got an FZ-M1 mark 2 tablet. Downloaded the appropriate programs, got the right cabling, plugged it all up, and it worked immediately. Went on some field tests and it worked. Went backpacking, it worked.

Im not saying these dont work for alot of people. I am saying that a pi has never been reliable, for me, in the field. Ever. And i followed instructions on builds to a T.

Just someone elses perspective.
