Assuming you followed my video on setting up the gateway, it should put you on the map without any additional work. With that said, my station disappeared from the map a month or so back. I updated to the latest version of BPQ at that time and it solved the issue. The version I am currently running is 6.0.24.2. To find your version, you can run "screen -r bpq" which opens the terminal for bpq. The version number will be at the top of the terminal window.

Mike is sorta correct. It will only show stations that have reported in the last four hours. The BPQ software is responsible for the reporting. No actual connections need to be made.

If you are running 6.0.24.2 or later and it still isn't showing up, jump over to the BPQ forum /g/bpq32/topics A lot of knowledgeable folks there that are much more qualified than I to chase down the issue.
