ARRL Conducting Survey Regarding Field Day 2022 Rules

Field Day has been an annual event since 1933.

It is Amateur Radio’s largest and most popular event.

Due to everyone’s favorite virus, COVID, the Field Day Rules were
changed for 2020 and 2021. The question is whether those new rules
should apply to 2022 Field Day or perhaps should be made permanent.

To find out what our Members want, rather than what a committee in a
Galaxy far far away might want, the ARRL’s Programs & Services
Committee has created a survey for the purpose of finding out what YOU
would like the Field Day Rules to be.

That survey is now live, is short and can be accessed at:


Please, out of your busy day, devote a few minutes to answer the survey
to assist the ARRL in making Field Day even more enjoyable and
responsive to the wishes of our Members.

Anthony, KB3DVS, Vice-President of PARK has suggested that, in order to increase local activity on VHF and UHF during Winter Field Day, operators with that gear check the following frequencies at the suggested times:

2M FM? 146.52?? 3, 5 ,7 PM

2M SSB 144.20?? 3, 5 ,7 PM

6M FM? 52.525?? 2, 4, 6 PM
6M SSB 50.125?? 2, 4, 6 PM

So, if any in our group would like contacts on VHF and UHF, checking 2m on the 3 odd hours, and 6 m on the 3 suggested even hours might help.

To Our Club Members:

We wanted to let you know that one of our members, Doug Priebe (AG5HB), lost his wife, Deanna this past Saturday. She had been battling??cancer.

The funeral is at 2pm on Saturday at North Pointe Church and out of respect to the family, the Board does not feel it appropriate for us to be gathering on the front lawn for Winter Field Day and would encourage you, if available, to support Doug and his family at the funeral. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to 5 Loaves.

We would also encourage you to take your gear to a park and operate as if it were an emergency state as was discussed at the January meeting. GARC has also extended an invite.

Finally, please keep Doug and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he works through this difficult time.
