Jim,

I will be there for setup and takedown.
I can bring a cooler and 2 bags of ice.

I assume we are fine with antennas?

Hi all,

Just a reminder that Field Day is this weekend, June 22 and 23.

Here is a rundown of events.

We are setting up our station at the Fire Training Center in Ballston Spa, the same place that we hold our meetings, and the same place we set up for the last several years.

We will begin setup on Friday afternoon at 2 PM.? We will be starting the preliminary antenna layout, and preliminary computer network setup at that time.? We will most likely be working until 5 or 6.? On Saturday we will be assembling at 9 AM to complete setup and be ready to start operation at 2 PM.

We anticipate running a 3A station.? That means 3 stations operating simultaneously on emergency power.? We also would like to set up a dedicated 6 Meter station, and also have a Get on the Air station for new and inexperienced hams.? This event runs from 2 PM on Saturday afternoon until 2 PM Sunday.

At 2 PM Sunday, we will tear it all down.? That is usually the quickest part of the event, and we will be done by about 5 PM.

Here is what we need:

  • Setup and teardown crew.?
  • Someone to copy the ARRL FD bulletin on Friday night or Saturday morning.
  • We might need an HF station, we anticipate using the club¡¯s 2 ICOM mobiles, and one other station has been volunteered.? If you want to bring your own transceiver to operate because you feel more comfortable using equipment you know, that would be great.? If you can leave it for others to use overnight that would be super.
  • Operators.? This is a 24 hour event, but no one should expect to operate that long.? If you can spare an hour or two, that would be great.? We especially would like to get newer and less experienced hams to join in and have fun.? We never expect to win our category, but we do expect to enjoy ourselves.? Also, if you are unsure about operating, but just want to get the feel of the event, come anyhow.? Everyone is invited.
  • We will have water and soda to keep ourselves hydrated.? The weather forecast is for hot and humid conditions.? We need someone to donate the use of an ice cooler and some ice to keep the drinks cold.? The club will be supplying food at the appropriate time.

If you can come and help out with manpower or equipment, please let me know, KG2H@...? If you just want to schedule an hour or 2 or even more, please let me know when you can come.? If you don¡¯t let me know because you don¡¯t know your schedule, just come when you can.? We are not RSVP-ing operating time.

I hope to see many of you there.
