During this meeting, we will be planning our club's operation for Field Day 2024 (June 22-23), including a review of SCARA's 2023 FD results and the options being considered for new locations to operate from.? An exciting video or two may possibly be shown during this meeting.
If you are not familiar with Field Day, it is the most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933.?
All club members are highly encouraged to show up at our Field Day location this year.? ? This will be the perfect opportunity for you to get back on the airwaves or even learn how to (especially if you never had an opportunity before).? Field Day is fun, it is a learning experience, there is no pressure, and it is a great way for you to share YOUR hobby with other like-minded people.
