I will be closing the slots late in the evening today on 20 meters. Yesterday evening I did 90 contacts on 20 meters. It was pretty chill with very low noise. Interesting contacts in the North Slope of Alaska, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Lots of California, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, etc. I got stopped to rag chew a bunch.

40 meters seems to be ok. I'm hearing NC stations so propagation is at least that far. But there is not much traffic at all on the band right now.

So far, so blah

I did an hour on 40 SSB noon to 1 pm with a few dozen contacts — the page with the numbers is upstairs. Then went to 20 FT8 from 1 to 2 pm.? Enough callers but lots and lots of retries that cut the throughput. About a hundred Qs for the 2 hours.

Had a squeak of dumbassery on the 40m frequency but I ignored him and he didn’t persevere.?

I’m going back to 20 FT8/4 for the 3 pm slot and again at 9 pm. That may change since the upstairs heat pump died. It’s kinda toasty in the radio room and I hope the repair tech will not arrive before I turn into a (baked) pumpkin. When the guy shows up I’ll have to QRT to deal with him.?

Hi Dave.? I was going "great guns" on 20 CW between 11 PM and midnight and it appears my Orion rotator lost its cal. Apparently due to the storm that went through. I don't want to twist cables off so will have to wait until daylight to see what the status is on antenna orientation and where the cables are, then proceed accordingly.

Thought for you.? I think it would be interesting to have a "Summary page" where people could put down the number of QSOs they had amassed and at what day and time. In this way we could see how our fellow K2Bers are doing.

Thanks Frank.
Just in case there is any doubt, there is no good reason to operate when T storms approach.
Wise on your part.

Has anyone had any success on 75 or 80 meters?

Whenever I go on there, I hear no K2* stations, and very little activity generally, other than the local rag chews.

I have a decent antenna, also.

Lots of open slots, but why bother?

Maybe late at night?

I always wanted to try doing an all-nighter for 13 Colonies; any band recommendations?

I think I'll try 80 tonight, hopefully I won't break it this year.

I put you in there with question marks, since I believed that's what you meant to put (40 SSB).
I don't hear and K2B, and can't find any spots.
I can jump on and do a few hours there...

By the way, Carl, when I sotted you, one of the times in the comment section?, I put "First class op"
But dxsummit 'censored' that, so it said "First cl*** op"
I guess its algorithm thought I was cussing.
Things you learn during 13 Colonies...

Carl, you were fantastic!

Unfortunately, when you left, you took 40 meters with you.? :-/

Carol KG4DTM did that with 80 meters a couple years ago…. broke the whole band, right, Carol?

Hello all,

?

First time operating K2B. Yesterday on 40 ssb I had 180 QSO's for my 2 hours. I saw the emails about some gaps today, so I got on about 20 minutes early and worked 185 ssb on 40 today. I will look at the schedule (I hope they keep it up to date) and if I have time I will work a little extra tomorrow. i am really enjoying this and appreciate being invited to operate.?

Thanks Bill, yeah 40 was pretty slow.

Not worth wasting time when the band sucks…

David,

?

I looked at the signup sheet and was confused by the entrees and question mark.? I quess that I entered my call on a blank line.? Unfortunately, I missed the slots because I didn't enter it on my handwritten list.? I did work 40 m SSB from 11 to 12 today.? The pace was slow.? I don't know it I will sign up for an afternoon slot.? Things are real quite in the afternoon.

Came home from my sleep study and decided to see if I could get anyone on 40. 8 contacts made from 7 am to now.
