There are some very usable sub-$100 100MHz scopes on the Bay now
that would be more than adequate for troubleshooting 1000_X
modules.? It may not be worth the investment for just one project,
but it's also surprising how many uses can suddenly be found after
buying a new toy :)
I sold the 'scope inherited from my Dad (a tube-based Tektronix
model from the 50's). It actually worked, but was huge and I had
little use for it. Looked like something from an old sci-fi movie.
