The Winstar OLED displays from Crystalfontz were the ones I'd been
getting, back in the day.? They were out of stock for quite a while,
so I'd given up on them. Seems that they're back, at least for the
time being, so thanks for the reminder!?

Any 1602 module that uses the Hitachi
HD44780 LCD controller will work
(some requiring modification), but I was specifically asking
David about finding OLED versions in the US. These are
standard LCD modules.
