Re: Editor and Librarian

Obstacles:

1.?????? Vintage Macs are spendy right now.? $200 for a 7100 even.

2.?????? A G3 Wallstreet sounds like just the ticket, except I have to enclose that into a 2U box.

3.?????? Graphics are and forever lame.? Meh, I can live with it, I suppose.

Advantages:

1.?????? Built in serial is the bomb!? No cards.? No problems.

2.?????? Tried and true SW.

I¡¯m kinda still leaning at the vintage Mac idea, but I dunno.? Seems very dead-end from here.

Hi,

I am still using opcode oms with opcode interfaces and they work perfect for editing hardware of that era. Not only you can get them for peanuts, you get a rock solid midi system. There are expensive midi multiport interfaces for Windoze, but midi timing on them are a joke compared to old macs midi behaviour.?

You can use a powerbook g3 wallstreet with built-in serial port and you will have a great 9.2.2 mac native computer with a lot less fan noises.

Studio5 are 15 ports interfaces, not 16 :)
