Re: Eco 65 houseboat "Galadriel"
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAu contraire, Bernd -?I¡¯ve found epoxy an excellent material to help develop one¡¯s humility, especially under hot and/or humid conditions! ;-) humility (n): a modest or low view of one¡¯s importance or abilities; humbleness Mike

Re: KD 860 Italy
Hi Domenico
You you are? coming from mono hull sailing and used to give a fast move to come about, forget it, nothing happened and the rudders work as brackets. You have to coach the boat trough the wind. Like driving a car trough a curve. So do give rudder slow, not more as 45 degree and the boat will sail through the wind. If he is going in irons how we cat sailors call this, hold the jib back and the boat will go through the wind, If the boat starts to go backwards, set the rudder to the opposite side and when the boat starts going backwards and the boat is also going through the wind. Sounds wrong, but works.? So this was the first letter with the new co;puter, yes after the keyboard this is where my M stands after my keyboard. Cheers Bernd? |
KD 860 Italy
Hi Bernd I tried the boat (albeit a few times) and I'm happy with how the boat goes above all upwind. The boat is stable and with a wave formed from 50/100 cm I did some good gaits. I still have to understand a lot about this boat and the only negative thing I can say, it's hard to make it turn. He's as stubborn as a mule ... Now the boat will remain stationary until next spring, as from Monday 16 September work on the KD122 Italy will start until the boat is completed. bye |
Re: Eco 65 houseboat "Galadriel"
Hi Holger
for you the same, In the coming days I hope I have my new Windows 7 computer running and can use my drawing programs again. I will draw a very simple boart which will be mounted on one side under the bridgedeck. Because the "sailarea" is big and for slow maneuvres the board is necessary. Re: Eco 65 houseboat "Galadriel"
Hello everyone,
it seems that it is possible to upload photos here again, so I just added some to my album. What went on this season? Let me give you a short update:? Spring started with building some driving gear for the boat to be more flexible in moving in the shed. After the boat was inside I started sanding but had too find out that pulling off the cloth is much faster! What happened? When I glassed the hulls in autumn, unfortunately humidity was already too high, so a large area was delaminating. I didn't measure this (now I do), but it was already October and the large doors have been replaced at the same time, so the shed was open all the night.? Giving up was of course no option. It took me about a month to completely remove the "winter cloth". Then I rebuilt the glassing, this time successfully. Next step was to build the large fillets under the bridge deck and the smaller ones at the stringers. The underwater area got a layer of graphite mixed epoxy. Now epoxy working with hulls up is finished. The last sanding will follow before painting the lower side of the bridge deck and the inside hulls. After this I'll be ready to turn it over so that we can go into the winter break with hulls down. ?Best, Holger |
