Re: Forum change?

I didn't share your optimism Bernd. Look what is now announced:

Yahoo has made the decision to no longer allow users to upload content to the Yahoo Groups site. Beginning October 21, you won't be able to upload any more content to the site, and as of December 14 all previously posted content on the site will be permanently removed. You'll have until that date to save anything you've uploaded.

Re: Build of ECO62 (houseboat) starts [3 Attachments]

Dis you all notice this announcement at the top of this site?

Attention: Starting December 14, 2019 Yahoo Groups will no longer host user created content on its sites. New content can no longer be uploaded after October 28, 2019.

It is, as I already suspected months ago: they will kill the groups. May be someone will be capable to rescue the existing content and place it to a safe and accessible place (I am not fit to do this).

Re: Build of ECO62 (houseboat) starts [3 Attachments]

One more time the pics I posted are not visible (at least to me). If anyone is interested, pics can be found here:

Re: more informations on the duo 900

Thanks
I can't see the attachment, it would help me to understand the mechanism better

Re: Eco 65 houseboat "Galadriel"

Hello everyone,

Finally this boat building season has been finished successfully. The underside has been painted and, as G¨¹nter (Eco 62 topic) did, with help of a couple of guys here in our Sailing Club on Sunday we turned the boat over. Now it's covered and moved outside the shed to it's winter quarter to wait for the next spring. Next steps (as before) will be done at home to be prepared for next year.?

I added some pictures to my album, but unfortunately this Yahoo site is getting annoying again and doesn't let me see them. They are a little bit unsorted now. Enjoy them anyway.

Best,
Holger?

Yesterday we finally flipped the boat. That was pretty easy with thirteen helpers. The weather was fine, so we had some food, drink and talk in the garden afterwards.

Hi Jean Yves

The structure is strong enough? for 5 m beam. But sure not necessary. I live and where for 11 years sailing the Med. I knoz hoz quick the wind is changing strength and direction> The 5 m are only extra weight.?
In very low wind yes, but a boat with a keel to
The high is just ok. or you bult the boat without the roof place the boat outside and add there the roofYou was describing the procedure by yourself already,

more informations on the duo 900

Jean-Yves JOURDAIN

Dear Sir,

Thank you for accepted me in your yahoo group.

I purchased the study plan of the DUO 900 and P95. P95 is very interesting but may ask for more work to be built. So i¡¯m more interested in duo 900. My futur program of navigation will be exclusively in mediterranean sea. (I live in France).

On the boat, I would like to build the large version (4.50 meters), but Is it possible to enlarge the boat to 5 meters with longer aluminium tubes ?

The boat has asymmetric hull. May it adrift more than a hull with daggerboard ? is it possible to go upwind, and how far (angle ? )

I have several questions on the dimensions of the boat. In Fact, my project is to build this boat in my garage. But the height is limited to 195 cm in the middle of the garage by a concrete beam. In all the garage, it¡¯s 215 cm .

What is the height of the hull boat from the bottom to the top of the roof ? Is it possible to built the hull and the roof separately and to reunite them ?

Thank you for your answers,

Kind regards,

JYJ

Hi?
Way so complicated with steering wheel and hydraulic? The tiller is cheap, easy to make, accurate to handle and you feel what the boat wants.
Logical, when you look at ;any French racing boats the are steered by tiller. Only many charter catamarans have wheels. Also logical, the persons are used to wheels fro; there cars and it looks so cool.

Cheers

Hello Bernd!
I would love to put my Kd in the water this year. The goal is this, but still a lot is missing. I have to install the steering wheel that will be driven by hydraulic cylinder, the cock pit cover needed to have open parts for bow access, under the cover I will install two stainless steel tubes where they will slide the canvas cover that can go until closing total, like a dog house or stopping to the point that only provides protection from the sun. Hope it works!
I sent another Email asking about the rotary mast for wishbone rigging I am also making the normal aluminum profile mast, would you have a drawing of it?
Thanks!

Re: hi , we ( me and my wive ) are about to order materials to start building ECO 550 with Gunter rig . we have build composite multihulls before , we are land based these days so we opted for something small and trailerable . Eco is just perfect for us . but i noticed in plans that plywood size is imperial -2440 x 1242 . my question is if that matters as i plan to use Joubert Okoume plywood that comes in size of 2500 x 1200 ?

Hi

We have two "standards" for plywood, One is 8 x 4 feet? which I use for security that you have enough material. The Brunzeel (now Joubert) panels , also 2500x1200 fro; Okou;e are the choice. The quality is also a lot better.

Best regards

Bernd
