I would hazard to say that I have probably pushed the Little Tri further than most.??:)?
?Only once did I bury an outrigger float during a poor gybe..? The boat recovered very quickly after I released the sheet and headed up.? In that circumstances, the lifting plate may have done little good.?
?I'm of the mind that if the wind is strong enough to bury a float, then it is past time to reef.

Hi Max,
The lift plate is probably the optional small lifting surface that you can install at the outside on the bow of the float.?
It is meant to make the boat less prone to nose diving (lifting the float bow at speed).?
I didn't install it because in my kind of use it's impractical to have it stincking out while docking etc.
I also never felt the need but maybe someone sailing the boat more "on the edge" than I do would benefit.
Good luck with the built. I think you choose a nice boat to build. I use my Little Tri quite often for fun sailing, rig experiments? and camping trips.
Cheers, Hans
