I've seen some discussion here about software to help transcribing
recorded music but no mention yet of Transcribe! which I think you
should try (OK I'm biased!).
Features include :
- Place markers on sections, measures & beats so you always know where
you are.
- Slow down the music without pitch change.
- Chord analysis. Select any chord or note and Transcribe! analyses the
frequencies present, and displays them as a wavy line above a piano-
keyboard graphic. Peaks in the line identify the notes being played, and
their harmonics.
Transcribe! can be downloaded from :
www.seventhstring.demon.co.uk/xscribe/
It's shareware - 30 days free evaluation then $30 registration.
Currently for Windows 95/98/NT only but the Macintosh version is under
development for release towards the end of this year.
Feedback is welcome - let me know what you think.
