Well, the cheapest & most effective upgrade is more practice. But after that, a decent set of strings and properly done set up can help a lot. I just don't remember him saying what strings he had on

It's definitely the point. He is only interested in publicity for himself. Isn't this the guy who had a reality show? He's a publicity hound and that's why he's getting involved. He smells a buck.
