live and in recordings, and has done so for the last couple of years. His old ES-175 was beaten to shreds and has basically been retired, according to his own comments. My recollection from reading about it is that he had a significant part in the construction of both Ibanez Pat Metheny models. Also, the one time that I saw Joe Pass live, I'm pretty sure that he played the Epiphone. Larry Coryell had both an archtop and a flattop acoustic by Cort when I saw him in a small club about a year ago, but I'm not sure how closely they compare to Cort's model(s) that carry his name. Especially the lower end PM did not impress me and again I doubt Pat would ever play one. And there are countless other examples. |
